What is Learning Rate?

A number that controls how much an AI model adjusts its knowledge from each batch of training data.

Why It Matters

Too high a learning rate and the model learns erratically. Too low and training takes forever.

Real-World Example

Starting with a learning rate of 0.001 and reducing it as training progresses for finer adjustments.

“Understanding terms like Learning Rate matters because it helps you have better conversations with developers and make smarter decisions about your software. You do not need to be technical. You just need to know enough to ask the right questions.”
